Went there on a Sunday, at 6pm. The place was already filled with people, waited for a table for 2  foray least 3mins. The queue for food was quite long as well, so had to wait for another 30mins to eat. After long shopping time, it's not very pleasant to stand and wait for so long.👿

There's not much to choose from in the menu, but it was enough to find something I'd like to eat.
For the 2 of us, we chose cold prawns $2x for starter (yeah fancy right?!😝), steak $5x and salmon $5x for main.The steak was not precut, it was sliced as you order. I wished it was more pink (cos I've seen more rare ones from IKEA), the mushroom sauce was ok, they are generous with the sides tho👍👍 fresh tomatoes 🍅The salmon is a little more over cooked than I wanted, the sauce was quite sour for my liking🍋. But what I want from this dish is actually the 2veg patties👏👏👏 Broccoli and potato are perfect. I need to buy them back to home  

I didn't take a picture of prawn cocktail, cos I'm quite disappointed. Becos the serving size shrunk and no more salad lettuce to go with it.😾 but the prawns are still good, it doesn't need lemon or salsa sauce for flavouring.

Be patient when waiting tables!!!

I think the self service idea is great, it's better than those charge you for servicing but give you crappy service.

紅丸甜品 (鰂魚涌)

Went there at six for an early dinner. Not too easy but not that hard to find. Found this place with mere luck. It's in the alley next to 759store.Homemade decorationsAdorable things dangling from above.The fridge has all the popular desserts, so tempting. Rare bottled coca cola herbal jelly, coconut jelly, half watermelon jelly.

Panda rice balls with Japanese chicken curry $56/setSesame salad dressing on Roman lettuce, fresh and nice background acting, contrast colour with curry.

Japanese Curry, seemed to use instant beef sweet curry, the chicken was nice and tender without fridge taste, plus some mixed veg.Look at that cute cute face, how can anyone eat it.🐼
decorative bento is popular in jp and mum lunch packings, but HK is still new to this stuff.LOL bf and I had so much fun toying with it.😂 sorry if it put you off hahahaha
we made a flat head👊, a split face🐹, did a surgery and a dissection✂️🔬🔪, and gave one of them a mario hat🎩.

Smoke salmon soba $52/setSame salad, 3pieces of smoke salmon, it's alright.
Cold soba, best for summer, but couldn't eat without the sauce.
Had to ask for an extra bowl of sauce.Nth fancy, the portion is quite big, compensates the small amount of panda rice.

Mango Pudding -setDessert choice of the day is pudding of mango/ taro/ red bean flavours.
non set price is $18/per bottle
smooth, milky, fruity nomnomnom

Watermelon jelly -set +$10Added $10 for this mock watermelon jelly, uses real watermelon juice to make jelly and black sesame as seeds. Cool gimmick but doesn't taste so good that I would come back for it.
non set price is $28 per portion, the half melon counts as 4portions maybe

Could added $5 for a cup of coffee or tea, but we are too full for it, and we are running late for a youth drama show in Sai WAN Ho Civic Centre.

Everything on their menu suits for summer only, I look forward to their change in menu for winter. 🐵

Gelare (新蒲崗)

Have tried a few places in Mikiki Mall, Gelare has always been on my wish. This late afternoon I pushed myself to give it a go.Casual spacious decor, I like.
Theres one big menu for dessert and drinks, the savoury stuff are on a separate A4 menu.

Big Bang Smootie $43This is the most expensive smoothie of all, others were $37.
Big Bang is all the fruit choices collide and blend tgt. It uses apple juice as base, and mix with blue berries, raspberry, strawberry and banana. It's quite sweet and icy, at the end there are plenty foam and residue left.

Large Waffle $42 （half price on Tuesday）
plus one scoop ice cream $18
plus second scoop ice cream $10Bf had cookie & cream, quite nice with loads of Oreo bits in it.
I had passion fruit, liked mine better, with the sourness and the tang.😋
The waffle was really nice crispy on the outside, soft and warm in the centre.
Love the maple syrup that goes with it, I like it sweet.This in total is $70, is a bit pricy, but I'll come back for it on a Tuesday!✌️Along with Korea Variety Show "Running Man", 2 hours was very well spent.😎
Great food and laughter, BEST COMBO.
Will return for all day breakfast and baked potato. 😘

亞坤 (尖沙咀)

I don't often have Singapore cuisines, but when it became such a heat lately, I couldn't resist to go. I struggled for a long time to choose between Ya Kun and the other "K" Singapore place.
and as I was wondering on the street in TST, Ya Kun just appeared out of nowhere, so my Fd and I went in.

we arrived around 7:30 and luckily for us we found the last spot to sit, but very very unfortunately the whole restaurant was so cold, there's literally air con blowing to your face.😨 we tried to move to other seats, but it's the same. There's customers complaining to the staffs, but nth has done, and some even left bcos they couldn't take the cold.

There's no set menus everything has to be ordered a la carte.

Iced Kopi -Caramel $28Ya Kun signature coffee with evaporated milk and creme caramel. 
Nothing special, too sweet for me.

Kaya Butter Toast $18Most reasonable priced and most looked forward product. Disappointment.
kaya jum was weak and blend, not buttery at all.
only good thing is that it came out hot and the toasts are thin.
couldnt help but to open up my last piece of toast to see how much fillings are there.Out of butter perhaps? so mean.👺

Curry Laksa $42At first sight, there's NOT ENOUGH SOUP!👺 It's soup is the soul of this dish, that's just mean giving so little to customer. Yet, the soup wasn't heavenly, I need a lot of soup to eat noodles. Half way through my noodle, I asked the staff to give me more soup, and thank god he came back with a big bowl, or else I'd be at rage.
Toppings：hard boiked egg was cold(menu saids to be runny)👺, fish ball slices were thin, tofu pok was chewy, prawns tasted like the fridge or tasteless.👺
Overall this is one bad laksa.

Nasi Lemak Istimewa $48I have no idea what the name of this dish is in whatever language. All I know is to focus on the sauce on the left bottom corn, as it should be the highlight the portion is quite small.👺 tho it is quite lovely, I think it matches with congee or noodles as well.
Its saids to be Singaporean beloved meal, rice with pickled veg, deep fried chicken wing and fry egg. Wings were not crispy and egg was freakin cold, the yolk was even dehydrated.👺

Anyways, this is not the place to stay long nor to visit again. Fairly unenjoyable meal.
Ya Kun HK, you've shamed sg.
Totally putting off to other Singapore food or restaurants.
And there goes my first negative, super sad face review.

沙拉姆咖喱屋 (油麻地)

Imma huge fan of food, and Heston Blumenthal is my greatest idol. The episode of Heston's great British food - Indian curry, has intrigued me to try some authentic Indian curry.👍👍👍I searched on openrice under Indian category and in Kowloon area, Salaam Namatse Curry House, came to my interests bcos it has no sad faces (bad reviews).😼Easy to find, YMT MTR Exit A2, 4streets on the right.
Bf and I arrived at 6:30, first customers of the night. (Dinner hours starts at six)The interior doesn't exactly shouts india/curry, but it is cozy, and got more seats upstairs.
We chose to sit further away from the front door, cos read some reviews complaining about the air con.Their menu contains different variety of curry in beef, chicken, lamb, and seafood.
Starters, salad, grill, soup, drinks and desserts. Theres also a few non Indian dishes.From Heston's TV show, I was looking forward to Vindaloo, Tikka and Papadum. But the staff  warned us vindaloo is real hot, and we couldn't take the heat, so we opt out.

Papadum with mint sauce - freeThe indian staff was so attentive and has taken such a good care of us, he starts off by offering us some papdums. I've never had it before, and don't know what should I expect. Mint sauce = mint + yogurt. I know India is a beautiful exotic country and their food is full of spices and flavours. But the papdum and mint sauce is just too salty for me and unexpectingly judging by its colour, the sauce is spicy!!👹

Chicken Tikka $69Boneless chicken skewers, well marinated chicken cutlets, served on sizzling hot grill.
the meat is very tender, juicy and bouncy.☺️ Staff suggested to eat with salad, there's a chicken tikka salad, but he was too late to tell us. Yet I should have order chicken tikka masala instead, cos I feel the chicken is missing some sauce, also it's the nation dish in UK.

Beef Makhani $75aka Butter Beef, a mild curry with tomato base, using a sirloin cut
Natural sweetness from caramelized tomato, along with the pleasant tang from the yogurt marinated beef balances out the rich creaminess from the butter and cream. NOMNOMNOM😋

Butter Paratha $15Huge portion, lovely stretchy and slight crisp texture, it's sweet and buttery. Best to go for a dip in the curry✌️✌️

Garlic Naan $18Huge again, so fulling, we could barely finish it. It's an extra order, cos there's a lot curry left for dipping. Waited 10mins for it, very fresh, totally worth the calories. Naan drizzled with garlic oil and topped with coriander. For the record, je detest coriander😾, but nvm.
And as I was explaining how naan is made, with arms waving in the air, the staff came over to ask me if I'd like to try to make one in the kitchen.👀 LOL how kind, thanks but no thanks.It's rare for me to have so much redness on the dinning table.❤️
Tikka is more spicy than Makhani! Bf was burning inside so we must order sth at once.

Mango Lassi $25This is the solution to cool down and heal the pain.👼
so captivated by the radiant colour, don't know what kind of mango did they used but it's certainly yummy blend with yogurt! 😛
we have no more room for anything else, so we'll have to call this dessert.

Great time, great satisfaction. Surely deserves a thumbs up👍
attentive staffs kept asking us "how's the food? Is it ok?", totally heart warming. its not easily seen in hk service.
We will go again for other kind of curry with lamb and seafood, and definitely Indian milk tea.😁
