The wall was an interesting design. It looked to me as if they used numerous pieces of napkins to put it together.  The design was modern looking, and was for sure a place for young people to hang out. For some reason, the place felt very Taiwanese.Service:

Caramel Macchiato ($40) I heard this is one of their must try drinks because they actually homemake their caramel sauce. The sauce really did tasted like it was homemade as it didn't have that artifical sweet taste; it was pretty good.  Underneath the drizzled caramel sauce was the very fine and smooth milkfoam!  I really wasn't expecting such nicely done milkfoam for such a drink.  The coffee itself was just okay, but I was impressed by the craftsmanship involved. Hazelnut Mousse Cake with Creme Brulee ($38) This dessert had a very fancy name that I can't remember at all.  Anyways, the outer layer of this cake was a smooth mousse, and the interior was also a very smooth creme brulee. This dessert was okay. The outer layer didn't have much taste though, the taste came from the creme brulee and the hazelnut sponge bottom. Final Verdict:
The next time I go, I would like to try their pasta. 

I really like going to Macau for the food. Although it is a small place, there is good food that you can't find in Hong Kong around every corner. Portuguese food for example is so rare in HK.  I heard A Petisqueira is always busy, but my buddy and I arrived kinda late for lunch, at about 1400, so we had no problem getting in. 

Environment & Hygiene:
The decor was kinda outdated and random; fake fruit hanging everywhere, animal head on the wall, red & white checked table clothes, what a classic! Ha. It was a homestyle restaurant I should say.  Hygiene was okay. Service:
The servers were nice and friendly. They recommended some of their popular dishes to us. Taste & Value:
After ordering, some bread was brought to us. It was warm, and soft to the touch. Also, it was not a small portion for something that was free. Next up was our Codfish Cakes ($40). This dish was surprisinly good. I find that cod balls are either tasteless or too salty, but these were just right! The fish gave it the saltiness it needed, and the mushy mashed potatoes gave it a nice smooth texture. An order had 3 of these delicious little cakes. Last but not least, was our Spanish Paella ($14X). The Spanish paella and Portuguese paella were both one of their popular dishes, but we chose the Spanish one because the rice wouldn't be as wet as the Portuguese paella. This delicious paella was served in a steaming hot wok, with a decent amount of seafood in it.  The rice was seasoned perfectly and was very flavourful. Did all of the yellow colouring come from saffron? or did they add in some tumeric powder, since whatever spice it was made our tongues slightly numb towards the end. Anyhow, this was a very good tasting paella! Final Verdict:
Both of us really liked the food, and were glad that we visited! It is definitely worth visiting.  Also, we left with a full stomach and it only cost us each about $100. 

After taking one shuttle bus after another, and some walking, buddy J, M and I made it to Estab De Comidas Ngao Keo Ka Lei Chon. Environment & Hygiene:
It was quite clean and neat looking inside surprisingly. It was funny because the TV was playing a very old TVB drama, and that was everyone's focus. All eyes on the TV, so the atmosphere felt very homey.  The 2 menu were hard to look at since they were tucked underneath the glass table and only faced one direction. Service:
I laughed when the Michelin guide said that the service was warm and friendly. They made it sound so nice. The service wasn't bad, but there really was no warm feeling. 

Taste & Value:
We ordered 2 of their famous dishes plus a snack. 
1. "Crab mustard" Lo Mein 蟹黃撈麵 ($31) These were some good noodles. There was a lot of crab mustard that made the noodles quite wet and very greasy though. Not a dish for people who worry about their weight. 2. Crab Congee 水蟹粥 ($58 Bowl) This congee is offered in 3 sizes, and even we got the smallest size, we managed to get four servings out of it. The crab was quite small with not much meat to it, but it did its job. It added life to the boring congee. I'm not a congee person, but I loved this crab congee. It was so fresh! Also, I'm sure they added some crab mustard in it because it was so flavourful! I recommend this! 3. Deep- Fried Wonton (12 for $48) Don't think that these were just ordinary wontons. I think because they were fresh, they tasted so much better than other ones that I have had. As you can see, each had huge chunks of shrimps inside. A golden outer plus a juicy inside, they were a great snack. 4. M's $9 can of coke España!! This can of coke got me all excited for the World Cup that is soon to come. Final Verdict:
All dishes exceeded my expectations. It lived up to its reputation! I would love to go again! I should probably try their curry next time. 

I fell in love with Est. de Comida Portuguesa "Porto" a few years ago after having their Baked Bread Sink w/ Bacalhau Mash Potato & Cheese. Since then, I try to make a visit whenever I go to Macau, but have failed to do so the last few times, so this time, even though my friend and I arrived didn't arrive until 2130, we had to visit! 

Environment & Hygiene:
Arriving so late meant there was no queue.  We walked straight in and there were just a few tables inside. There are pictures and chalkboards on the wall showing their recommendations for those who need help deciding what to eat.  Like the last time I visited, which was at least 2 years ago, they still had a TV in the centre that played Amercian Pop music videos. Hygiene was okay. Service:
Since we arrived an hour before closing, the servers worked fast in taking our order, bringing our food, and bill.  ( I hope they got off on time..hahaha)

Taste & Value:
Trying something new is my practice, so besides ordering the dish that made me fall in love with this place, we tried 2 new dishes.  Now, this is what we got. 1. Baked Bread Sink w/ Bacalhau Mash Potato & Cheese ($88) An order comes with 2 balls of this goodness. Each is a puff pastry filled with mashed potato that is flavoured by Bacalhau covered with cheese. This dish is to die for! The pastry is flaky, but fluffy. The mashed potato is smooth, and eating it with the pastry is just so magical.  I remember it tasting even better last time. I think they could have used a little more Bacalhau this time. Nonetheless, it was still very good.  This dish is a must get, but it is kinda heavy.2. Curry Ox-tail ($83) The curry sauce was very nice, but the ox tail pieces were quite small with not much meat. Interestingly, my friends really liked the potato they had in the pot a lot, and I liked the onions. Not a bad dish. We were going to order some garlic toast to wipe up the sauce, but we forgot. 3. Creamy Angel Hair Pasta with Salmon ($78) This name of the pasta sounded so plain so I really wasn't expecting much. However, the taste was full of surprises!  It wasn't your boring pasta in a watered down white sauce. The sauce was light, a little sweet and full of flavours, which was perfect with angel hair. Also, there was quite a bit of salmon chunks. I liked that it wasn't smoked salmon.  Surprisingly, this dish was the best of the night! We were all glad we got this! Now, I have another must get dish at Porto. 4. Portuguese Pineapple Soda ($18) A very very sweet drink. Final Verdict:
I already can't wait to go again! 

Buddy M did most of the research for food this time. Nam Ping was one of our planned places to visit.   We actually stopped by immediately after having lunch at Estab De Comidas Ngao Keo Ka Lei Chon since they were along the same street.  Environment & Hygiene:
It is rare to still find these old school Cha Chann Teng nowadays. Maybe that was why I felt such a warm feeling even though it seemed so unkept inside? It was busy when we arrived, and some tables had left so they were trying to keep up with the cleaning. Service:
The staff were rough with a lot of yelling, but somehow it added to the charm of the place.  The old lady who served us was quite forgetful because she had to keep coming back to our table to confirm our order, but it was okay. I thought it was kinda cute. 

Taste & Value:
The 3 of us each got a drink and ordered some food to share.What we got:
1. Hot Milk Tea The colour was lighter than usual, so I thought that it would probably taste too milky, but it was okay!  The tea taste was strong, and it was a nice cup of milk tea!  
2. Cold Lemon Water M's drink. There was almost half a lemon in the drink.  It was hilarious. 
3. Warm Milk J's drink. She complained that it wasn't warm enough. 4. Egg Tart This was a really interesting tart. The crust was something between a cookie crust and a puff pastry crust. Also, although the custard was on the sweeter side, it somehow didn't taste like your usual tarts, and was very good.  I recommend this! 5. Ham & Egg Sandwich This was one thick sandwich; thick eggs and thick ham!  Only for $16!!  The bread was fresh and soft, and the egg was nice and smooth with lots of taste. I just thought that it was weird that the ham was so thick and was only in the centre of the sandwich. M recommends it! 6. Coconut Bun This bun was quite big, but there wasn't much of the coconut filling inside.  The bun itself was pretty sweet, so along with the filling it was a very sweet bun. Like the egg tart, the coconut filling inside somehow tasted different from the ones in HK. I liked that it was different. I think the bun was good, but I have tasted better ones. Final Verdict:
I would definitely visit again for some cheap and good food. 

Before exploring the streets of Macau, the 3 of us needed to get some energy from somewhere to power our legs.   M decided that we should get our energy from Macau's most famous Portugese Egg Tarts. 

Environment, Hygiene & Service:
Lord Stow's Bakery is along the canal inside the Venetian, which has a way easier access than its original branch, which is not quite in the tourist area. It was packed when we arrived, so we had no choice but to order our food to go. Hygiene seemed okay, and service was too brief to comment on. Taste & Value:
The Portuguese Tart ($8) was amazing!   Although I thought it was smaller than usual, the size was actually perfect because sometimes these tarts are too filling, so this way, the small size made them just right. The tarts were warm, which is the best way to eat. The custard was pefect, as well as the crust. The caramalized top is the key. I was very satisfied when I was done. Instead of having a tart, buddy J got something lighter. She got a slice of Angel Cake ($5). Quite cheap we all thought since the same slice would probably cost more than $10 at some famous coffee shops.  The cake was soft, moist and bouncy.  It had orange rinds throughout and was full of orange flavours. My friends really liked it, but since I don't like fruit flavoured food I didn't care much for it. We also got a Chocolate Brownie ($12) to share for our ride back to Hong Kong. This brownie was quite big in size. This brownie had nuts in it, and was quite hard in texture. It didn't have much taste, so I would just say that it was soso. Final Verdict:
MUST GET THE TARTS! 

Before leaving the Macau, I wanted to get something from Grand Hyatt Macau Patisserie, so that I could have a treat on the ride home. 

Environment & Hygiene:
This place is in the open area at the lobby of Grand Hyatt. It has cool live music at night. Hygiene appears to be okay. Service:
Service was okay. My friends and I went in the morning and asked if we could come back in the afternoon to pick the cakes up, but since their machines were down, we had to put down $100 as a deposit, and that they'd give us back whatever change they owed us. 

Taste & Value:
With cakes lining up neatly underneath the glass, I could easily see the different cakes available.  I saw the only one that I wanted- the Chocolate Brownie Cake ($33). In this gambling city, of course everything is related to $$. This wonderful piece of cake had a ruby on top.  Okay, so it wasn't a real one; it was actually white chocolate. The bottom of the cake was a chocolate brownie with walnuts, which was probably one of the best brownie I have had not including my mom's. The texture was perfect.  The layer on top was chocolate and hazelnut mousse that also had a nice smooth texture. Together, this was a very good dessert.  I recommend it. This fancy piece of cake would probably cost at least $42 in Hong Kong, so I think it was a pretty good deal since it was only thirty something. However, although I ordered to go, there was some kind of service charge. Final Verdict:
Stop by if you're ever at the City of Dreams. Next time, I think I will actually go at night so that I can enjoy the live music. 

OMG! Third restaurant in 2 hours! What can I say, the 3 of us had to make use of the limited time we had in Macau!  I never knew that this place existed until I walked by, and since the coffee looked so attracted, we decided to visit.

Environment & Hygiene:
Following the staircase, you will notice a big teapot on orange wallpaper,which takes you slowly into the hidden paradise of L’Occitane. Once in, you'd be on the 2nd flloor, where you can order and take a seat. The 3rd floor was closed at the time we visited. For the whole time, I felt like I was in a French garden (probably because of the beautiful and realistic paintings on the walls).  No issues were noticed in regards to hygiene. Service:
It was a self serve kind of place, so there isn't much to comment on, but I can say the staff who took my order was warm and friendly. 

Taste & Value:
Since I was attracted by the beautiful looking coffee, that was what I got. I got their signature Hot Cafe Au Lait ($36). Cold is also available. It was a very big cup of coffee with beautiful latte art. The taste was okay; the milk didn't take over. However, the milk foam was a little thick. I probably wouldn't get it again. Buddy M got this Berries Delight ($40). It was a hot day, so a cold refreshing drink was what was needed.  This was indeed a refreshing drink; so refreshing that it tasted like flavoured iced cold water. The taste was very very very mellow, and not very sweet. Again, we would probably get another drink next time. Final Verdict:
There were no surprises here. Based on what I had, I am not sure if I'd visit again, but I didn't mind the relaxing environment that took me away from the crowded streets of Macau.
