Came here for a late dinner and i must say the decor of this place is great. Very Thai themed and there's even outdoor terrace seating for smokers.

Food: Menu was pretty extensive with english translations and pictures - made ordering very easy.

Chicken with egg and broad noodles: Pretty good and huge portions for sharing. I thought it only tasted good with beef, but the chicken turned out very good, with good amounts of chicken (not dry).

Pan fried fish filets with lemongrass and other stuff: This did not appeal to my tastebuds, just tasted insanely flavored - it was 50% fish filets and 50% all these seasoning like things i dont know names of, but chili pepers, lemon grass, leaves of all sorts etc. This might appeal to those who really like very heavily seasoned food? The fish filets themselves were not as large and thick as i prefer and semi dry...

Cabbage greens with garlic: This was like eating a cabbage/brussels sprouts type of vegetable. The picture looked good and the dish looks good when it arrives, but the texture is so much tougher than I'd expect, so it was a lot of work just trying to chew it.... Flavor with garlic was good though.

Deep fried taro cakes (appetizer): This was yum! Vegetarian too so had bits of mushroom mixed in the taro, and the fryedness was perfect, paired with this sweet/sour tamarind type of sauce.

They have a large selection of desserts including little cakes and treats that are like $8 each, so you can mix and match. The mango with sticky red rice was great! Sweet mango chunks (in season now) with piping hot red sticky rice with this white sweet sauce all over.

Sizing it up: This place is pretty decent, i have to try out other dishes next time to get a better picture of whether i really like this restaurant or not. Liked the decor and service was fine.

Came here for dinner while walking around SOHO trying to get some decent food w/o getting ripped off. Ended up sitting at the bar since we didnt have a reservation, but didn't change a thing in terms of quality of service

Food:
Mushroom and truffle fettucine: YUM! Came loaded with morsels of portabello mushroom and the truffle part was grounded and with a layer of olive oil and basic seasoning, this was great. Pasta was al dente and flavor was on point. Slightly oily for me, but flavor won me over.

Rib-eye steak: Came paired with green beans and roasted potatoes and two sun dried tomatoes. Pretty hearty portion, steak was decent, nothing spectacular. Liked the sides more.

Warm chocolate cake with hazelnut ice cream: Wasn't what I expected, it was just a very stick-to-your-teeth type of cake. Very chocolatey and dense. Ice cream was yum.

Service: Great service, won me over. The waiters are all attentive and knowledgeable on wine recommendations. They also have a pretty decent wine list to choose from.

Sizing it up: I enjoyed the food and the service was attentive. The decor of the place is very trendy and chic. I liked the fact that it isnt open air, so you can enjoy the meal with air conditioning. Eveerything was also fairly priced, so value was good for the type of experience, would come again.

Came here for lunch. Have been here ages ago, and remembered it was a good experience so decided to find this place tucked away in Granville Rd in TST. Overall, good value lunch sets for $58/$68, including an appetizer and/or soft drink.

Regular char siu ramen in Miso soup base: Very yum and came piping hot. Especially enjoyed the texture of the noodles. Miso soup base was also very tasty. The char siu slice is just ok, can be softer? Came with seaweed, corn, bean sprouts, half an egg and those picked bamboo strips. At first, thought it was a normal portion, but ended up being a very big portion and could not finish due to the toppings.

Gyoza: Also very good! Finally a place that makes decent gyoza. The skin was nice and soft/silky while there was a nicely pan fried side. Also the filling was very authentic and quite hefty. No complaints here!

Overall good experience here. The service was prompt; food was great. The space isn't that large, and the kitchen is exposed, so you will probably end up smelling like ramen/gyoza, but its still worth it for the quality of food here. Recommend for sure.

Just came here for dinner. Was anxious to try this HK style cafe. The decor is very cute with the blue themed tiles; mirrors; old-school TV; ceiling fans; stained glass lights; old-school green window shades; and other HK style knick knacks everywhere. Seating is best/most spacious in the booths.

Food: In terms of value, its best to order the combos which are like $33 or $38 for lunch/dinner. This compares to a milk tea which a la carte would cost $18 and a noodle a la carte for around $38 or so. There's also a variety of breakfast combos as well.

Special combo (Chicken pie immersed in green pea soup; Banana walnut pancakes in caramel sauce; Choice of tea/coffee for $38)

Chicken pie...: the crust on this was superb, similar to the crust on their egg tarts. Inside was a small helping of chicken/ham. the pea soup was also good too and paired well with the bites of chicken pie. this was surprisingly good.

Pancakes: Delicious and everything worked well w/ each other! Took longer for this order to arrive since it is made fresh. The pancakes came with 2 thick ones stacked on top of each other. Diced bananas and walnuts on top with a caramel sauce drizzled everywhere. I preferred the thickness of the pancakes, made the entire thing taste like a dessert.

Milk tea: the standard HK style. need to add sugar cubes your own from their own sugar cube tin on each table.

Fried chicken drumstick with fruit salad: This was okay. I liked the crispiness of the skin and the seasoning on it. The chicken meat was also tasty, although some parts were drier than others.

Pork liver ramen: I loved the broth in this - not the soup base from the ramen pack, but a in-house made liver broth that was oozing with the pork liver flavor. Funny thing, I loved the broth and ramen, but I personally am not a fan of liver, so I ate everything but the liver, which I felt bad about. There were also pieces of diced ginger and green peas in the soup. Ramen came with the packaged soup base and sesame oil on the side in case you want to further flavor/customize the taste, but in my opinion the broth can hold its own.

Egg sandwich: Yum, generous portions of scrambled egg, slightly oozy. Good deal for $18.

Service: Much better service than the standard HK cafe with a good number of waiters around. Cute outfits with white shirts and checkered blue themed pants which matched with the overall decor. English menus available, but does not include all the good combos, recommendations, or specialties. Accepts credit card.

Sizing it up: Very refreshing to find a themed HK style cafe with good food at a fair price (I came with a very hungry friend so meal ended up to be $140 total). I find it more homey and at a better pace than the usual Tsui Wah which is overwhelming and too bustling at times. Also the menu offerings has all the good craved HK basics but also has enough unique offerings that make it stand out from the crowd. Was a pleasant visit, will come again.

Came here for a light dinner/snack before a movie.

Food: Ordered a few sushi which was discounted due to the time and a ramen noodle. The sushi didn't taste that fresh, which didn't surprise me considering it was discounted...the spicy tuna sushi in particular was disappointing. I also ordered a scallop sashimi that's supposed to be extra large, but it was just 2 scallops diced 4-way....
In terms of ramen, had a spicy brothed one with enoki mushrooms, seaweed. The broth and noodles were pretty good. Want to try more off the menu before disregarding this place. I looked over to other ppl's food, which looked a bit more promising.

Service: decent, seated next to the storage room, so worst seat in the house... waiters kept going back and forth behind me... there were booths which seem to be the way to go here.

Came here for dinner after seeing there were long waits for other restaurants inside WTC, particularly Ruby Tuesday's which was upstairs.

Food: There was a pre-fixe 3 course dinner which was $168 which compared to the a la carte menu is good value. However, I just wanted to order what I wanted, ie all the special Wildfire recommendations.

Spinach salad: The most boring underwhelming salad I've ever had. Was a bed of soggy spinach and the most frugal amount of mini croutons (not fresh baked) and maybe a few pine nuts on top. Balsamic dressing on the side. Big disappointment to start

Eggplant and tomato tower (appetizer): Came with deep fried eggplant layered with sliced tomato and topped with a melted cheese on top. Sounds good, but actual was again disappointing. The entire dish was served lukewarm (cheese was hard already) and the deep fried eggplant would've been nice if it was fresh - but it was soggy from the oil...Very uninspired and not sure why its a wildfire specialty...

Braised pork rib: this was the most expensive entree on the menu (HKD195) so I assumed it would be their best... The braised pork turned out to be a huge portion, however the meat was more dry than I preferred (not sure how braised meat could turn out dry...) and was smothered with a bbq sauce. Came paired with i believe cubes of pumpkin or some squash and green beans and an extra bbq sauce. I would pass and just get ribs...

Linguine with scallops: The worst paired dish I've ever had. I was shocked! The linguine came dry (barely and sauce) and the sauce was this spicy black bean sauce - like Chinese/Szechuan style... Came over bed of baby tomatoes and peppers. Why would linguine be paired with an Asian sauce? I felt I was eating a Chinese dish and then there were tomatoes and peppers.... Not to mention this came with scallops that were utterly tasteless. No seasoning whatsoever, no salt/pepper, even some butter would've helped....

Service: Sub-par service for the price you pay. We were almost done with the salad and had no drinks...I had to wave down a waiter to ask her to give us some water (they have no tap, just bottled...). Overall poor attitude/atmosphere in the restaurant.

Sizing it up: The worst western food ever. I came here once for tea time and had a good value tea set with a pizza. I think their pizza is the ONLY decent dish. I expected far better quality of menu and service during dinner time - and was sorely disappointed. Will never come here again nor will ever mention this place to anyone. Turned out to be almost ~HKD700 for 2 ppl dinner.........

Came here for dinner, they honored the reservation in timely fashion.

Food: Menu itself was weird - first few pages were itemised in nice text then following that were pages of colorful pictures of combos and dinner sets... menu didn't feel it matched any theme nor was it cohesive as a whole.

Mussels with white wine sauce: Yum, mussels were the smaller sized type and the broth was very tasty, went will dipped with the soft bread served.

Steak with potatoes and green beans: Very mediocre. The meat quality wasn't what I expected, although it was cooked to the right temperature. It was a very thin beef strip steak. The paired steak sauce was separate and very nice. Came with choice of mustard as well.

Smoked halibut with potatoe salad: Also just okay. The smoke flavor was very intense, but not sure it was a dish that can be eaten entirely because the flavor was so intense that as you get through a few bites, it gets a bit tiresome. The potato salad was served cold and that was not very well matched with the fish. Would have prefered some greens to keep the dish more light.

Service: Was fine.

Sizing it up: The food was just average, and not that authenticly French. The menu speaks for itself on the type of atmosphere or theme the restaurant is trying to create - its very thrown together and not to the level of fine dining at all. The space is quite small and decor very dim. The experience I had does not warrant another visit from me.

Came here for dinner, with a reservation. Wasn't hungry so only ordered a few things.

Food:
Crab bisque with crabmeat salad: Just okay, the crab bisque was very flavorful with chunks of crab and 2 small ravioli inside; paired with a slice of toast. The bisque had this very seafoody taste, not sure how to precisely describe it, but its very distinct and it didn't appeal to my tastebuds, however my friend enjoyed it a lot. The crabmeat salad was nicely presented inside the shell of a small crab and tasted very tropical - with strong parsley taste (reminded me of Thai food).

Lamb back with beans: This was the special for the day, apparently its from the meat on the back of the lamb. It came beautifully presented, although a much smaller portion than I expected. However I soon came to realise at the end that it was the perfect portion. The lamb cut was a medallion, with the layer of the fatty skin around the actual meat. I enjoyed the meat part and cut off the fatty skin. Also, there was this tomatoe puree/paste on top of the meat. For pairing, there were kidney and other beans scattered all around the plate with this very middle eastern tasty sauce. The flavors were very distinct compared to the meat and the beans, but both paired well together. However, by the end of the meal, the food was hard to finish because the flavors were too intense.

Trout with mashed potatoes: This also came beautifully presented, little slices of trout would be curled up into separate pieces circling the center of the plate. My friend enjoyed it a lot as well. I had a piece and found the meat was cooked perfectly - slightly pink in the middle - just the right texture!

The sourdough bread that came with a yogurt dip was especially good. It came warm and went so well with the yogurt. Also at the end of the meal, we didn't order dessert, but there was complimentary chocolates! Like morsels of both milk and dark chocolate with a flat sweet pastry slice as well. The dark and the pastry were both yum.

Service: The waiters knew their menu - which is what I would expect from a fine dine place. They knew exactly what was in each dish, what to recommend for meat lovers vs. seafood lovers, etc. However, we didn't get our bread until asking 2 waiters for it.... I got a bit frustrated on this since we had our appetizer already and the bread came after that.... To their credit other tables got their bread once they got seated looking at their menus - so it seemed like us not getting our bread was just a slip-up (apparently by the busboy who delivers it).

Decor: Was initially very pleased with the decor, especially the corridor leading into the restaurant from the UH hotel. The seating is very low to the floor, and the windows surrounding the dining area is only standing length exposed, hence the low seating. I believe it is due to structural issues that the upper half of the window area is blocked off. Very high ceilings, accentuating the low seating. There are booths and big tables tucked away in their own areas, but also normal tables scattered in the dining area. Not sure what the reason was, but it was noisy! The decor/layout of the place didn't absorb the noise well - so I couldn't feel the intimate low-key fine dining atmosphere. Also there is a bar/lounge area on the other side of the restaurant that plays music, so that didn't help - although it did sound/look fun to be there. Also must note that the restrooms are fantastic, like the ones they have in Felix - where you get a view outside...however the outside view is just Pacific Place/Admiralty area, but it is still nice to have all window walls.

Sizing it up: It was only an average experience for me. I must say though that the food presentation is amazing and the flavors of every dish came through. The bread mishap and noise turned me off slightly.

Came here for dinner with a craving for American food. Luckily came at 7pm and still got a table without wait on a Saturday night! The restaurant has nice American feel to it, with some booths and some tables and the desserts displayed in the middle of the restaurant on a table that separated the areas quite nicely.

Food:
Classic burger: Added portabello mushrooms for extra $10. The meat came medium cooked and very very tasty! One of the pluses is that you can actually fit the burger in your mouth...so the size is perfect, I hate having to cut it in pieces or having stuff fall out. The portabello mushrooms ended up diced, I would've preferred a big giant mushroom, but the mushrooms addition was nice. Also came with the classic sesame hamburger bun.

Onion rings: SO GOOD Finally, a place that gets it right! They were real onions deep fried, not like some onion mush, but the actual onion - made to order! Big recommend!

Australian wagyu burger: I split with my friend, so I had half of this as well. Um, its more expensive than the classic burger, but honestly I could not taste any difference.....although this was tasty as well.... I'd stick with classic since the taste didn't scream that it was made from special wagyu beef....

Waffle fries: this was also yummy, just as good as Freshness Burger's waffle fries. However, I did wish they put a more special twist to the fries, like using some garlic salt or some type of cajun flavoring (like Popeye's)?

Service: Very good service, the food came very fast! although our waiter kept saying "apologies for the wait" ...when we didn't have to wait....haha.

Sizing it up: I like the space and decor way better than some other small burger joints (Burgeroom in CWB is tasty too, but space is small). The menu is limited to the classics like burgers, fries, and milkshakes and some variety of drinks and desserts. This is comparing to Burgeroom's mix of burgers from seafood to foie gras. Overall good burger joint, would def come again if in the TST area.

Came here for dimsum with a group of 8 and a reservation. Suggest reserve table beforehand since the seating is very limited.

Food: The good thing about this place is that you can order the dimsum pieces by the number. Ordered a number of classics and some new ones with twists. The ones that stood out: Har Gow - insanely huge and stuffed with shrimp; Soup dumplings - very tasty soup and meat, comparable to Din Tai Fung; Roast pork pastry - comes as a rectangular pastry, multi layered and flaky while the filling was tasty juicy roast pork. Another that is worth mentioning: Egg yolk layered cake - this is their twist on the classic drippy egg yolk buns, but its in a multilayer triangle piece, different layers of yellow and soft white. It was just okay, I didn't like it that much because it had this weird texture that seemed grainy/sandy like the ingredients were mixed well, and then I realised there were pieces of coconut in it.

Service: Service here is pretty attentive, but the waiters' attitude can come off stuck up in a sense. There's also a woman who seems like the owner who walks around asking if you enjoy the food.

Decor: Decor is very nice here - very good use of nice colors like dark olive green; gold; white. There's high ceilings; comfy comfy chairs, some have booths with nice sofas; gold framed paintings. The atmosphere created is Very intimate and personal - none of that noisy local HK dimsum feel. The restaurant tries to preserve that very high end private/exclusive feel. Even the entrance is pretty private considering you don't even notice its a restaurant on the street level.

Sizing it up: I enjoyed the intimate atmosphere the most here. The food was up to par to the level you expect when you pay more. We ended up paying $350 a person for dimsum - which is actually very expensive, considering there wasn't much leftover food. I recommend it for special occasion dining.
