I went to PURE for an event recently and tried some of their new cocktails and canapés while I was there. The duck liver mousse with poached pear on toast was creamy and indulgent, while the cherry tomato on toast was light and appetising.A cocktail that I really liked was the Cucumber Martini, made with crop cucumber vodka, fresh cucumber juice and fresh lime juice - it was soothing and refreshing at the same time! Thanks to Pure dining for inviting me to try their Sous Chef Chetan Kohli’s 2013 menu which includes organic alchohol.Pure dining is part of the PURE fitness group so it makes sense for a fitness social bar to offer healthy drinks.The tantalising new cocktail menu includes signature favourites made with 100% fresh organic ingredients and alcohol.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Strawberry energizer:Made with fresh strawberry juice, vodka and orange juice.As a non drinker I really liked it because it was light and refreshing.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Cucumber Martini:Made with lime juice, cucumber juice and vodka.The colour of this fun and appetizing and the cucumber juice was soothing.Compared to the first drink, the alcohol tasted stronger.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★rare tuna with egg nori & lump fish caviar:The tuna and lump fish caviar was a nice canape to start with.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★chorizo & shallot bruschetta:The Chorizo was covered with cheese on top and the shallots and chorizo was delicious and spicy.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★truffled popcorn shrimp:This was my favourite, the coating was crisp and light with a hint of truffle.It seemed to be everyones favourite because it was gone quickly.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Ostrich meat balls:Initially I thought they were beef balls but they were made from ostrich meat which was even nicer.They were spiced with my favourite cumin.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Cucumber with salmon mousse:This was my favourite, refreshing cucumber to go with rich and velvety salmon mousse on top.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Toast with liver mousse:Lastly this was my favourite and the liver mousse was velvety matched with the crispy toast.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ 繼續閱讀

Pure bar and restaurant is always one of my favourite place for lunch. This is not because only I visit the gym everyday and the restaurant is right below it. The main reason is Pure actually make good healthy food, it helps the diet while maintain my palate’s adventures. More importantly, there are always sport channels to company you.Cuisine: EuropeanFood rating: 4/10*Service: 6/10Ambiance: 6/10Price: HK$120pax* Food Rating: 6/10 is equivalent to 1 Michelin star, 8/10 to two Michelin stars, and 9/10 or above to three Michelin starsSeared tuna salad (4/10)The tuna was nicely seared, the dressing was refreshing, the lemon brought out the freshness of the crispy greens. Not a bad start to the lunch!Deep-fried chicken breast with mash (4/10)The outside was crispy and wasn’t too oily. The chicken was tender, but the inside was slightly under season. In general, you could feel this was a much more healthy and friendly version of a deep-fried chicken. The set lunches are always fresh, always changing. 辛辛苦苦大熱天時行上半山. 去到 PURE 好似身處綠洲叫了set lunch soup 係 南瓜湯, 喜歡佢夠濃.蕃茄辣蝦意粉... 正, 蝦大大隻, 足料, 辣味同 herbs 又唔會太濃 cover 左蝦同意粉味魚. 不知明魚, 但好食, 外面脆脆的但水佢迫我飲 FIJI 來的水.. 要收費 ($60) 畀佢(湯)左一下其實求其畀杯水加lemon 咪 ok 囉!!! 繼續閱讀

I stopped in today for a leisurely lunch at Pure, because I was around the mid-levels and had a hankering for a burger. GBU has decent burgers, but I wanted something better. A burger from a real restaurant.I'll have to say I liked it. I ordered 'medium' and the burger was juicy and flavorful, and also quite enormous. I did have one complaint...Mayonnaise! It doesn't say on the menu that they're going to slather your burger in mayonnaise, on both sides of the bun. The server never asks. The burger just comes out, covered in mayonnaise. Blech. I scraped as much of it off as I could. They really should let you choose which condiments, and how much of each, you want on your burger.Burger score: 8/10* (The score is what the burger would have gotten, if there had been no sneak-attack mayonnaise)The burger came with fries, which weren't all that great. Mushy and greasy and unappetizingly burnt-brown in color. Cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough, and for too long. A lame effort: 3/10Also, there were pickles. Normally I don't like sweet pickles, but these were very subtly sweet, and nicely crunchy. 6/10All in all, it satisfied my burger craving. The bill was $212 and I didn't even get a beer, so it's definitely not everyday fare. The restaurant has nice open air seating, which was great on such a nice day.Restaurant score: 7/10 繼續閱讀
