I went to Kwun Tong to meet up with my friend who works in the area. As I arrived early on a Thursday evening, I ordered a glass of Rosé with a buy one get one free deal and some Hors d’oeuvre to go with it. My friend arrived around 8pm. When she sat down, I’ve just finished my first glass of Rosé so I ask for my second glass. When she sat down, I’ve just finished my first glass of Rosé so I ask for my second glass.

The waiter, hearing my request, replied:
Happy Hour買一送一優惠只可以由你自己飲，唔可以你買一然後送一俾你朋友。另外，我地只會倒入你本來隻杯到，唔會再俾多杯你。
Obviously I was stunned by his words to even react. My friend just stared at me and said: Do we have to eat here? I don’t even wanna bother taking off my mask.
We were both so shocked
The waiter was rude beyond words. There are so many ways to convey the same message but he chose the most demeaning and disrespectful way.
First, my friend doesn’t even drink on a weekday night.
Second, if we were that cheap we wouldn’t have ordered wine in a restaurant.
Third, we left without finishing my refill just coz we don’t need your favors if that’s how you treat your paying customers.
I hope to see a new restaurant at the same site soon.
