Ive been to the Wan Chai, K11, and Olympic Branches and gotta say this is the best Five Guys branch.


This visit is at least the 6 or 7th visit to the Central branch. They are most generous in the toppings and cook the beef patties to perfection, they are so juicy!


We only ever order the double cheese burger all
the way (hold the mushroom) and the bacon 🥓 burger all the way with jalapeños and medium fries.


The burgers are freshly made to order right in front of you. Man they are filled to the brim and it turns into a mess when you eat them, they are so big and juicy!


The fries are also freshly made with skins on, they are crispy and fluffy inside and not too oily. Make sure you you ask for the mayonnaise behind the counter for the fries.


Best burgers in HK in the Central branch!

Came here on a Sunday 12pm for lunch. It seems this cafe is more popular for its deserts than its mains so we ordered one main and two desserts for the 3 of us.


The main we ordered the Homemade Wild Mushroom Creamy Sauce Orecchiette with Slow Cooked Salvia Chicken. Seems this is the most popular main. The sauce is rich and creamy and the pasta is Al Dente. The chicken is the star of the dish, it is supposed to have the spicy numb Sichuan flavor I think, but it wasn’t so pronounced, however the skin is crispy and meat is so tender and juicy.


The Mille-Feuille Soufflé Pancakes were nice, the Napoleon was crispy and fresh, the pan cakes were soft and fluffy, eaten with the cream it was delicious and didn’t need the syrup which was supplied as everything is already dusted with icing sugar. It wasn’t too sweet a nice light dessert.


The Dirty Tiramisu is a deconstructed tiramisu, the coffee flavors are not so strong as the chocolate content, but it is worth a try and the textures and different combinations of flavors is interesting and unique.


The Cappuccino was ok, nothing special, the iced latte was strong and iced cold, the iced green tea latte was also cold and had a nice green tea flavor.


The interior of the cafe is black and it is small but there is good separation between tables. The service is really good as they constantly top up the water. They also are attentive by changing the sharing plates and utensils between the mains and desserts!

This is my second visit to Muta for dinner. Came here a few months ago. There were slight changes to the salad dishes in the menu which I guess were seasonal. We came here early to try get a seat as after 6.30pm there can be long ques. We arrived before me 6pm and were promptly seated.


We ordered a Fig Parma Ham Burrata Salad, when it arrived we were quiet surprised that it didn’t have much salad leaves 🍃 🤔? The Burrata cheese was tasty, rich and creamy, the Parma ham was of good quality, there was a deep ham flavor, tomatoes and lettuce were fresh and the figs were ok, slightly dry. Overall delicious, but needed more salad leaves 🍃


Next to arrive were the 2 x small dishes, we ordered the Meat Ball Yakitori (second time I’ve tried this dish), again is a star signature dish here, the meat which is chicken mince is smooth and well seasoned and the crust when smothered in the Egg Yolk adds a richness and creamiest texture.


The Mentiko Stuffed Chicken Wings with Shichimi Mayonnaise was a fusion of seafood and chicken which has an interesting texture of the deep fried crispy chicken wing outer layer with a mushy fish roe filling. I found it very strange, but when dipped with the spicy seaweed mayonnaise it brought the dish together.


The first main to arrive was the Beef Sukiyaki Risotto with an Egg Yolk on top. We throughly mixed the Egg Yolk into the dish and again this bridges the fusion of the Japanese Beef and the Italian Risotto. The sukiyaki beef is tender and the risotto is creamy and smooth, I felt the risotto lacked some salt, but overall great dish.


The second main to arrive was the Parma Ham
Artichoke Edamame Gnocchi pasta, and the second time I’ve tried this dish. The gnocchi pasta is soft and spongy, the sauce is rich and creamy, the Parma ham (same as that in the salad) was flavorful, the beans gave it a nice crunchy texture and the artichokes gave the dish acidity. However, this time the dish was slightly different to the version i tried from the first time, it wasn’t swimming in sauce but drizzled with sauce and cheese, and the Parma ham were chucks of pancetta ham. I liked the first version I tried as much more refined and visually better in appearance.


Then, it was desert time! We ordered the Fried Waffle Fruit Maple Syrup Cream, the waffle was like a doughnut, it was freshly made and hot and when mixed with the fresh fruit, cream and syrup it was delightful, simple but very satisfying and well presented. The waffle is definitely the star ⭐️ of this dish.


We decided to order a second desert after finishing the first one, we went for the Roasted Apple Honey Cake Sweet Potato Ice Cream. The presentation for this dish was sloppy, the roasted apple was a bright red, but had a black spot on it…the honey cake was deformed or looked like some one took a nibble out of it 🫣 The star of this dessert was the sweet potato 🍠 ice cream, the dish is best eaten mixing it with all the ingredients on the plate.


Overall we had a great dining experience, 8 out of 10! Food is great, service is good and the environment is very spacious and relaxing.

It was a hot 🥵 afternoon and we needed to get indoors to find some shelter. We had always wanted to try this small modern cafe hidden in the back streets of YMT behind the street markets. We decided on a light afternoon tea type of meal.


The fried chicken had about 4 pieces of boneless chicken covered in a golden brown batter. The chicken meat was thigh, it was juicy and the coating was crispy with salted egg sprinkled on the outside. A good snack for sharing. Loved the side salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar which gave the dish that freshness and acidity.


The avocado 🥑 cheese and onion toasted sandwich 🥪 was tasty. There was lots of avocado and it was hot and cheesy and savory. Again there was a side of salad leaves.


The blue mandarin soda drink was refreshing. It contained soda, blue curaçao liqueur and Yakut. It was a lovely blue color and just what was needed on a hot day.


The Dirty wasn’t cold enough as there was no ice, wasn’t to my liking that it wasn’t cold enough. The coffee content was strong, but it needed to be more refreshing with ice 🧊


In summary, the quality of the food and drinks is ok, nothing wrong, but a bit on the expensive side considering what you got. The cafe is spacious and clean. No complaints on the waiting staff, did what they were supposed to do 👍

Do you hate going to busy, noisy yum char on a Sunday and waiting for a table? Well this place is quiet, spacious, chilled and no need to fight for a table, space or food. What’s more the dim sum here is incredibly good and good value for money.


We have been her several times and can testify it is consistently good and the dim sum menu has special items from week to week according to the ingredients the restaurant can source at the time. The week we went was Alaskan King Crab 🦀 spring rolls, what? yes that’s right! First time I’ve ever seen that in a spring roll on a dim sum menu. We put a tick on the menu for this dish along with Har Gow, Pork Siu Mai, Beef Rice Rolls and BBQ Steamed Buns.


Everything is freshly made to order, the Har Gow arrived first, the skin is thin and not sticky, inside are massive juicy prawns 🍤 cooked perfectly. The neat thing is that they have a mini Har Gow in a different color skin in the middle which is quiet cute.


The steamed bbq buns are freshly made, the bun is soft and spongy, the filling of bbq pork has the nice tangy sweet sauce and the bbq pork is lean meat without fatty bits inside.


The Siu Mai are moist and well seasoned, the pork
mince has been finely chopped so there aren’t any chunky bits of pork or fatty bits that get stuck in your teeth. The meat is lean and of good quality.


The Steamed Beef Rice Rolls are excellent, the beef inside is seasoned well with a lite hint of coriander (I hate coriander 😩), but the skin is super thin and not sticky which is a good sign of a good dim sum chef.


Finally, the Alaskan King Crab 🦀 Spring Rolls arrived and were huge and stuffed to the brim with succulent juicy crab meat wrapped in a crispy pastry, it was one of the most luxurious, different and tastiest dim sums I’ve ever had, it was heaven 😇


Overall, great gem of a dim sum resturant hidden in Ho Man Tin. Very chilled and pleasant environment as all tables are booth seats, the service is fast and efficient. More important the food is top quality and they have a very competent dim sum chef!
