A lonely, yet, relaxing lunch

If you don't like waiting, just don't go there. Luckily, after the morning office training, I have around 2 hours for lunch so I picked HABITU to spend my lunch time alone. I went in before 12:30pm so I don't actually have to wait. When I was seated, there were many people coming in for lunch so if you want to come and dine here without waiting, place call and book a table first otherwise you will have to leave with empty hands. I ordered a set lunch, the salmon pizza, which is a chef recommenda

 This is the green pea soup with carrots. It tastes quite fresh and creamy. But it would be better if it comes with a piece of onion bread.

 Then, here comes the main course. It is a bit disappointing. I don't mean that it doesn't taste good. But  it is not hot enough when it arrived at my table. I guess one of the possible reasons is that there are not enough waiters/waitresses serving the customers. My pizza has been sitting in the open-kitchen for some time before it was delivered to me. I was sitting right opposite the open-kitchen so I could see clearly what has been going on. There are only 2 people serving in the restaurant. I saw some people even went to get the utensils that they needed rather than waiting to be served.

 As mentioned, the set goes with a drink. But it only includes the most basic drinks, like white/black coffee or lemon tea/water. So if you want to try something else, like me, (I order the special coffee of the period, Rose Latte), you have to pay the surcharge. It's only $13 this time so it worths more than it costs. I would highly recommend this.

After all, it would be better if there is enough manpower serving customers. Their service and food is not bad just that it would be better if there is someone to take the orders and deliver the food timely.

    話晒黎到Habitu,  當要要叫咖啡飲。用東亞既flyer world飲品有得買一送一。Cafe Rosa（$49）本來小妹以為係咁意加幾片玫瑰上去就叫Cafe Rosa,  gimmick野， 幻覺黎架者， 嚇我唔到既。點知飲落有驚喜，咖啡味混合玫瑰香，加上奶量足，好滑好match。Cafe Caramel（$49 - 信用卡買一送一優惠)呢杯Caramel就略嫌火候過左少少， 面個層焦糖頗硬，幾難扑碎，攪到咖啡無乜甜味。主菜買一送一叫左扇貝蕎麥蛋餅($158)同炸魚薯條($158 - 星期一至三主菜買一送一優惠）。扇貝非常彈牙，個汁同個甜甜地既蛋餅好夾，唔會搶左對方既味道，與其話係蕎麥味，我反而覺得似朱古力味，份量略少，幾好食。千祈唔好睇小炸魚薯條， 要煮得好唔係咁簡單，首先要d油夠新， 其次係要炸得均匀，最後就要魚肉夠厚夠滑，唔係整到好似空氣魚柳咁，層皮仲厚過肉。呢碟真係別出心裁，完全無燶，皮脆肉滑，魚肉貼住晒脆皮，非常香口，份量亦好大，一個人應該食唔晒，最好兩人同行。食咁多好野連加一都係$249咋，係中環真係好難得。

     千祈唔好睇小炸魚薯條， 要煮得好唔係咁簡單，首先要d油夠新， 其次係要炸得均匀，最後就要魚肉夠厚夠滑，唔係整到好似空氣魚柳咁，層皮仲厚過肉。呢碟真係別出心裁，完全無燶，皮脆肉滑，魚肉貼住晒脆皮，非常香口，份量亦好大，一個人應該食唔晒，最好兩人同行。

      Food is so so, service and time management is bad. Worst Habitu dining i have ever experienced. Guys, come on. Habitu is a group but why the management is that bad here? I came with 4 other colleagues because of a Buy 4 Get 1 Free coupon. Ordered 1 set lunch but only delivered 4 main course, while we have had 5 soups... The missing course was the all-day breakfast. After 4 rounds of follow-up in an hour, all the shop assistants hid in around the bar and not coming for offering solutions to

      Guys, come on. Habitu is a group but why the management is that bad here? I came with 4 other colleagues because of a Buy 4 Get 1 Free coupon. Ordered 1 set lunch but only delivered 4 main course, while we have had 5 soups... The missing course was the all-day breakfast. After 4 rounds of follow-up in an hour, all the shop assistants hid in around the bar and not coming for offering solutions to us until we asked for it. 


      Set lunch is all HK$100 up with 10% service charge. We have orderd one of each set on the meau, including a vegetarian all-day breakfast, pasta with small clams in spicy sauce, a pizza with truffle dips and cheese, risotto with soft shell crab, roasted chicken with artichoke. Appearance on each dish is satisfactory but the proportion is slightly small as a main course. I only took pictures of the best looking three -

       Risotto with soft shell crab ~HK$120 (forgot price); risotto was good and the sauce was optimum, but my colleagues said the crab was a bit too hard

      Moreover, the most ridiculous thing is that we had to add HK$16 for 'upgrading' our coffee/tea to cold coffee and iced lemon tea!! I understand there might be a standard in getting cold beverage on set lunch but I think the shop assistant/ wait should remind the customers on such a big extra cost?

      Highly not recommended this restaurant - simply no next time.


       
      題外話/補充資料： Had lunch there because we got a Buy 4 Get 1 Free coupon. However, they have missed one of our set lunch while we have 5 people. Soups are adequately served but one main course was missed. We had to ask for the progress 4 times in the hour while they had not checked the system/ order history. Moreover, the most ridiculous thing is that we had to add HK$16 for 'upgrading' our coffee/tea to cold coffee and iced lemon tea!! I understand there might be a standard in getting cold beverage on set lunch but I think the shop assistant/ wait should remind the customers on such a big extra cost?

          nth to do on the weekend then went to a coffee shop for having a coffee with my bro. so many people in taikoo plaza, finally we found a seat at Habitu caffe. i had ordered a lime soda, why dont i order coffee at caffe coz Habitu's coffee is not good so i had chosen other drink instead of coffee. Lime Soda is Lime Soda, i think it is hard to give us a suprise of it. So... nth special if it is ok for causaul gathering.

          -終於要離開這間公司 兩個好同事呢日就同我食farewell lunch地方係佢地揀既 lunch hour原來呢度都幾full架如果無booking walk-in都唔知要等到幾時-呢份係當日既lunch menu -兩位同事都揀左truffle linguine 我都試左一啖 不過松露汁真係幾"漏"我見佢地兩個都係食唔哂既不過味道幾好 但如果細食既女仔兩個share一份應該都夠喇-至於我就叫左Pan Seared Salmon自己本身好鍾意係餐廳既set lunch/dinner揀魚黎食 呢度既side dishes仲要係mashed potatoes同baby spinach! Creamy既mashed potatoes配埋有少少魚油既三文魚 好好味呀如果下次黎食 a la carte 有得叫我都會叫呢個main!-至於飲品呢 我就揀左Cookies and Cream chocolate不嬲都好鍾意呢個飲品所以都無咩可以挑剔喇 美中不足係曲奇味唔太夠-埋單我食左大約二百蚊雖然係中環食 但係都算有d貴不過呢個質素 值啦

           甫進內裏, 左邊設有一個大型的開放式廚房, 前台放了一些出售的食物、咖啡產品等, 也算整齊企理。其地方不大, 座位數目不多, 泊牆有一排長沙發座, 另設有數張二至四人枱, 雲石枱配鐵網椅和木椅, 黑白色為主調, 加上柔和的燈光, 設計簡約時尚, 讓我倆在這個舒適寫意的環境中渡過一個開心的晚上。

           揀好菜式後, 好酒的友人便有心水買紅酒或是白酒來配搭, 馬上走到附近的屈臣氏酒窖選購。買回來是一支果味香醇, 入口順喉的澳洲產地紅酒, 用來配薄餅和甜品也適合。好! 馬上乾杯。

           最近班尼廸蛋吃得多, 轉一轉要一客水煮蛋配露筍及巴馬火腿 Poached Eggs with Asparagus & Prosciutto ($112), 添些新意。巴馬火腿 上放了兩隻水煮蛋, 淋上淡黃色荷蘭汁 和灑上香草, 底下墊了三大條露筍, 旁邊配了數塊淋上橄欖油 的意式拖鞋包, 簡簡單單, 卻令人吃得滿足。

           輕輕把雞蛋 切開, 水煮蛋比班尼廸蛋較生, 鮮橙色的蛋黃汁澎湃地湧出, 充滿蛋香兼富黏性, 配上微酸鮮香的荷蘭汁 更美味。留在碟中的鮮香蛋汁亦不少, 怎辦好? 當然要用外皮微脆, 包身稍煙韌的拖鞋包 蘸上它, 吸了蛋汁, 啖啖蛋香, 一點一滴也不浪費。

           原來簡單的配搭是如此美味……平時絕不會點用料普通的薄餅, 要有三文魚、巴馬火腿, 最少也要有野菌才滿足, 但友人卻推介單單用鮮茄、車厘茄、mozzarella 和羅勒 製成的意國風味薄餅 Marghertia ($108), 別看它用料普通, 配搭起來清新美味, 朋友話蕃茄和薄餅是好朋友, 無錯! 的確令人吃得滿意。

           薄餅預切八件, 面層舖了清新鮮爽的蕃茄片、數粒清甜的切半車厘茄、焗至金黃半溶的芝士, 放了一些羅勒葉, 正中央還有一堆微苦的火箭菜, 色彩豐富吸引。

           把一件拿起, 拉出長長的芝士絲, 久久牽連着, 芝味滿分, 鹹香的芝士配清新的食材, 最適合不過, 吃起來不覺溜滯, 清新怡人, 吃多幾件也不怕, 若然再加多一些羅勒葉, 多添香味就更理想。

           最喜歡3mm 薄身的餅底, 厚薄度剛好, 不會薄得如脆餅般, 仍存咬口, 焗得相當香脆, 餅邊帶些焦燶, 咬下去脆卜卜, 眾材料亦沒有令其濕淋, 口感一流, 很合我心意。

           用蜜棗來煲湯就吃得多, 用來製作西式甜品就甚少, 一於試試這款焦糖蜜棗香蕉布甸 Monkey Business ($70)。碟中淋上拖肥醬, 放了兩件蜜棗香蕉布甸, 疊上兩段焦糖香蕉, 灑上花生碎、鳥結糖碎 和糖霜, 再以翠綠的薄荷葉 作點綴, 唯獨是遺漏了唧上香甜的雲尼拿忌廉, 但富心思有層次的擺設, 單單賣相已取了不少分數, 一看到已令人喜悅。

           布甸 厚度中等, 鬆軟中帶點濕潤, 香蕉 味不算突出, 反而滿有棗香, 內裏夾雜一些蜜棗粒, 煙煙韌韌, 多份口感, 再伴上脆口的花生碎 和稍稍黏牙的鳥結糖, 口感更豐富。最欣賞是糕身味道不太甜, 蘸些碟中的拖肥醬, 甜度剛好, 香甜美味。

           還有印上燒紋的香蕉, 經稍稍輕燒, 帶點微酸, 但配上面層薄而香脆的焦糖, 添點香甜, 賣相和味道同樣吸引，讚! 以一客讓人吃得滿意的甜品作總結, 滿足!

            I saw from email Caffe Habitu had a promotion from Monday to Wednesday (only lasts for a short while) for 'enjoy 2 for 1 main course'. It was quite an attractive promotion. Strangely it tells us to bring our own corkage that there is no corkage fee; as this Habitu branch does not have licence to sell alcohol.Tiger Prawn Liguinine ($135)The prawn was rather small for a 'tiger' size, but the tomato sauce in the pasta was very rich.              The prawn was rather small for a 'tiger' size, but the tomato sauce in the pasta was very rich. However too much pasta in comparison. (6.5/10)

            Poached Eggs with Asparagus and Prosciutto ($98)

             The egg white was delicious along with the sauce on top. The Prosciutto ham underneath tasted splendid with the egg; was warm. (8/10)

             The texture of the salmon was a bit too dry and rough. The mashed potato as the side dish was quite filling and delicious. (7/10)

            Overall this is a strange place as although it is just 1/F above Lan Kwai Fong, it is rather quiet and tranquil. Good environment for dinner catch-up sessions. Convenient and rather less busy.

              一直都很喜愛這間的coffee /dessert/ All day breakfast ，但是日下午太衝忙，沒有時間坐下來慢慢吃，看見曲奇是home made ，而且口味看起來頗特別，便買來試試。Earl Grey Cookies , 茶味的甜品有很多，但伯爵茶的曲奇比較少見，而且曲奇面放有很多茶葉和糖粒，茶味很香的慢慢滲出，配上一杯紅茶簡直是一流。另外亦買了Rose Strawberry Cookies, 玫瑰味不是太突出，但strawberry jam 並非一般的果醬，果肉多而且新鮮，味道很好又不會太甜。

                勝在大堆頭，驚喜欠奉@ Caffe Habitu吃一頓weekend brunch吧。慢食看來是一個潮流，且是開始走進胡同的時候吧。一大堆頭，勝在吃得飽，在範圍內任叫任吃，甚麼都有，炒蛋，烚蛋，巴馬火腿，肉，種類亦多，坦白說煮的方式同做法，沒有特別，但一定會飽肚。意粉闊扁麵，委實不錯，兩種的醬汁，車厘茄及忌廉做得十分恰可，而且混得不錯。簡簡單單。最喜歡的反而是那無花果芝士蛋糕，內外都鬆軟，一層層分明，那無花果醬淡而清香，配襯這道甜的糕點，十分得宜。飽得固然飽，特色欠奉，但以此價錢任吃，亦俱滿足了。

                意粉闊扁麵，委實不錯，兩種的醬汁，車厘茄及忌廉做得十分恰可，而且混得不錯。簡簡單單。

                最喜歡的反而是那無花果芝士蛋糕，內外都鬆軟，一層層分明，那無花果醬淡而清香，配襯這道甜的糕點，十分得宜。

                飽得固然飽，特色欠奉，但以此價錢任吃，亦俱滿足了。

                  炎炎的夏天，咁啱出到中環仲有d時間hea下，又好想食egg benedict,就嚟呢度靜靜地不錯，好隱蔽既地方，地鐵站d出口上少少斜5分鐘左右入大廈樓梯上一層就到，可能我4點幾到，無咩人，得d外國人係度傾計~~我好like飲呢間既rose latte,不過由於行到身水身汗，佢又無凍飲，所以叫左ice mocha.由於未食午餐，一個人叫左個黑松露egg benedict, 佢有2個， 係ham墊底唔係煙三文魚，所以有d膩，三文魚應該好d, egg benedict繼續保持水準，沙律菜好fresh,要$103、同出面差不多啦！好冰凍既ice mocha不過無左lunch set要散叫，所以價格無咁可愛，唔知係咪中環區，覺得d waiter特別有禮~~舒服咁坐左一陣，hea既好地方

                  事隔一年, 呢度個weekend brunch 加咗廿蚊, 無得食Scottish egg, 又無龍蝦湯, 都唔緊要嘅,仲有好多選擇。原本個餐有杯 橙汁, 加多廿蚊任飲 咖啡, 茶。Mushroom soup 啖啖碎蘑菇火箭迷最開心, 可以任食。 尼斯沙律上的吞拿魚係我最愛。無咗 Scottish egg. 蛋都有五種煮法。Egg Benedict w/ smoked salmon, Parma ham & mushroom.Smoked salmon and mushroom omelette. 鹹咗啲。香辣茄汁扁意, 食過几間 Habitu , 茄汁調味都係偏甜。煙三文魚刁草汁仲好食過 Carbonara食埋scones 同 muffin. 咖啡都飲完。再食多次 Egg Benedict 同 Carbonara.                   跟大學同學gathering，今次係我提議食caffè HABITŪ的All-you-can-eat Weekend Brunch Buffet!佢地都未試過 而我係第2次食 ! 事隔2年，原來加左價 !我地book左第2個session - 2pm開始 (第1個session係11am - too early for us)  一行4人被安排近window位置，寬倘舒適，座位一D都唔迫~Menu選擇唔多，但大家都食得好飽、好滿足~店員服務真係唔錯~見未人齊，我同友人先黎個白松露蘑菇湯醫肚~味道香， 入口順滑，即刻re-charge新鮮水果，值得encore~焦糖玉桂蛋糕，咬下口淡淡玉桂味~可惜有友人不喜歡玉桂pancake熱辣辣，夠鬆軟，蛋香味濃，yummy!cesar salad菜夠新鮮，入口爽脆，配合面包粒口感唔錯~Egg Benedict切開後蛋汁流出，配料份量足，好味! 其實大家食左好多，差不多試齊MENU食物，有d冇影相呢度值得再黎!

                    今日同同事食午飯，有人提議食all day breakfast，於是就諗起最近公司既Caffe Habitu The Table黎食。中環呢間比其他分店細，但內裡間格都算寬倘舒適。幸運地，我們起行尚早，剛好有一張枱可以坐下。不過呢間店有個小小小小既缺點就係，個餐牌十九幾年都唔轉一次！虎蝦意粉真係次次黎都有呢個餐架 好食還好食，魚翅食得多都會反肚啦！改下餐牌啦PLEASE!虎蝦茄汁意粉: 呢個意粉出過好多次lu, no special feelings haha英式全日早餐: 質素穩定無得輪，果醬可以添多少少。HAWAIIAN PIZZA: 薄批口感好過厚批但同事覺得好似食左陣風咁。總括來說其實可以既，餐飲一定歎咖啡啦！
